Per the CMS Vaccine Mandate, all students, trainees, and volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to January 5, 2022, unless there is a medical or religious exemption request approved and on file with Christ Community Health.

Preceptorships and Shadowing

If you are interested in a rotation, preceptorship, or shadowing, please complete the Student Rotation Application below.
Please indicate your specialty of interest (Family Medicine, Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Dental, etc). We accept applications on a rolling basis.
Gap Year Internship
Medical Scribe and Quality Improvement Internships are for students taking a gap year before going to a health profession school (medical, public health, physician assistant, etc.) who have a vision for serving others through primary care.
Goals:
- Understand complex healthcare needs and current strategies for improvement
- Be mentored and gain experience in an urban community health center
- Increase your familiarity with medical processes, electronic health records, and navigating a busy clinical environment

Summer Internship Program
During Christ Community Health’s Summer Internship Program (SIP), students see the love of Christ demonstrated through primary medical and dental health care.
During the internship, you will:
- Shadow healthcare providers and observe community-based, holistic medicine that addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients
- Develop basic patient interview and exam skills
- Gain experience in disease diagnosis and treatment
- Learn about the challenges and opportunities faced by community health centers, patients, providers and vocational ministries.
- Observe quality improvement, care coordination and case management activities
- Connect directly with our community and other local ministries through engagement opportunities like health screenings, and community events
